Diagnosis
Posterior margin of dorsellum evenly rounded; submedian carinae on propodeum strongly diverging posteriorly; petiole 0.8X as long as wide. Similar to P. facialis but is easily separated from facialis through the almost flat scutellum which has weak reticulation laterally and a wide smooth and shiny stripe medially, in having setae on lateral propodeum between plica and spiracular sulcus, and with more than two setae on propodeal callus.
Distribution
Recorded from Bahamas, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Guayana, Mexico, West Indies by De Santis (1979) and De Santis & Fidalgo (1994). Originally an African species.
